Take Bets
One Redditor said, “Back in the days of VHS…. friend is getting married. We’ve already placed bets in a “how long will this marriage last” pool. At the reception, the bride and groom spend most of the time behind their big chairs arguing. When the camera comes round to each table, every guest must speak his/her good wishes to the newly married couple. Groom’s Dad looks into the camera and says, “all I can say, son is good luck. You’re gonna need it.” Rumor of this gets to the bride, and the reception disintegrates into chaos. The marriage lasted 17 months. I won the pool, $1200, lol.”
Propose to Partner
A most liked comment said, “As a guest, propose to your partner, especially without asking the bride/groom. It’s their day. Let them celebrate and be the center of attention for one day. You can do it on any other day.”
Wear White
One user replied, “For men, a white shirt is fine. The “don’t wear white to a wedding” thing only applies to women.’
Another user said, “Yeah, white is for the bride. Leave your white sundress at home, Karen.”
Objecting to the Marriage
A Redditor wrote, “standing up when the priest say’s “does anyone disapprove this marriage” (or whatever he says, it’s different in my language).”
A second Redditor replied, “It’s weird that this is even still part of anyone’s ceremony. My husband and I didn’t have it said.”
Physical Altercations
A user commented, “fight. There’s nothing worse than stories about people who has a physical fight at a wedding. We’re all there to party and celebrate, not get trashed and cause nonsense.”

Another comment said, “Grab the bride and just start hitting on her in front of the groom or bridal party.”
Get Too Drunk
A Redditor replied, “Get drunk, take the mic off the DJ. Something, something. Taxi home.”
A second Redditor added, “Get too drunk and try to eat the cake before they cut it.”
Wear a Wedding Dress
A user said, “Wear a wedding dress when you are not the bride.”
Another user said, “My future MIL wanted to do this, and it took me months to convince her not to. I still don’t understand why I thought that marriage would work!”

A second Redditor simply said, “Cancel the wedding after all of your guests have flown onto a tropical island for a 1-week wedding celebration.”
