“Stay golden, Pony Boy!” is a classic quote pretty much everyone knows from this movie adaptation. People agreed that they got a “tingly” feeling during a specific scene while watching the movie in English class.
Princess Bride
There were a plethora of people who loved both the book and the movie, but there were even more who said the book was better! One person even said the movie was “perfection.” Whether you read the book, watch the movie, or both, it seems like you won’t be disappointed.

Stand By Me is the movie adaptation of The Body by Stephen King. A great film about four friends who head out on an adventure to see a dead body. They run into plenty of challenges and learn a lot about themselves and each other. Stephen King even enjoyed the movie himself.
Matilda
We’re talking about the original adaptation with Danny Divito and Mara Wilson. People are in agreement that this book should not have been redone again, and this version is the one that will always be a memory. Plus, a person stated that stories from the set showed everyone cared for each other and kept each other healthy and safe!
Perks of Being a Wallflower
A great adaptation that many were a little wary of at first because of the writing style of the book (written in a series of letters). But a college professor says even she uses the book and watches the movie in her college course. She goes on to say that “It gets students talking about how we can help someone we care about if they’re struggling and different ways we can learn how to show ourselves, love.”
Holes
A great story about reinventing yourself and becoming a millionaire in the process. The movie stayed close to the book and made for a great pre-teen/teenage movie. One person even said they had watched the movie at least 20 times.
Anne of Green Gables
One person called the movie “simply perfect.” Although some details are changed around a little bit from the book, many agree the movie is a great addition and perfectly captures the spirit and essence of LM Montgomery’s characters.
Jurassic Park
Many agree the book is actually terrible, but the movie made everyone oh so better. The casting, storyline, and more made this Jurassic Park franchise what it is today and left the book written by Michael Crichton in dinosaur dust.
Virgin Suicides
The casting for this movie was described as “sublime.” Kristen Dunst and Josh Hartnett were both perfect choices for their characters, and a lot of watchers put it on their “LOVE” list. Others have a difficult time with the concept of suicide and said they were gonna pass on the book and the movie!
Fried Green Tomatoes
A few people didn’t even know this amazing movie was based on a book written by Fannie Flagg titled Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. One person even said, “LOVE this movie!!! Just had some fried green tomatoes a couple of days ago and thought, I gotta watch this again!!” A movie and food combo that is deliciously awesome.
Gone Girl
A thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat, unsure of whether to cry or scream at the screen. Many moviegoers agreed the casting was brilliant, but Rosamund was missing that sweet factor from the story.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Jack Nicholson seems to love book adaptations because he stars in this great drama. It’s an adaptation that lives up to the book! This movie is truly heartbreaking and makes you want to read the book over and over.
The Green Mile
Tom Hanks just delivers time and time again. The Green Mile is at the top of many people’s book adaptation lists. But one person disagreed, saying, They had always loved the green mile as a movie but connected to the story on a much deeper level through the novel. They went on to say that they also don’t feel like the movie fully captured the complexity of how each character’s own relationship with existential dread played upon each other in each scene.
