The Boomer generation has a pretty bad reputation with Gen Zs and Millennials. It may be their unsolicited advice about how to make money, live within their means, or just the “how hard life” used to be stories. But they just don’t get along well.
However, there are some things that Gen Z, Millennials, and Boomers can agree on. Recently, someone asked the question, “what’s your most “I’m with the Boomers on this” opinion?” Here are some of the answers.
Touchscreens In Cars
One Redditor said, “Yes. God, I hate seeing these stupid new cars with touchscreens that require you to go through 10 menus just to open the glove box.”
Another Redditor added, “Touchscreens in cars are a fundamentally bad idea & physical buttons (or similar controls) need to be brought back.”

Too Many Subscriptions
A most liked comment was, “Every damned thing is a subscription. Music? Subscription. Movies? Subscription. TV shows? Subscription. Heat your ass while you’re driving? Subscription. REALLY?.”
A second Redditor replied, “Everything is either subscription, ad-ridden, or both. The worst ones are the ones that require a subscription and then still give you ads unless you pay for premium versions.”
Apps
A user commented. “Apps. I don’t want to have to download another goddamn app just to buy groceries.
Another user added, “Ugh…apps. If all the useless apps I was forced to install suddenly disappeared, I’d have three apps left–maybe four.”

Automated Customer Service
One Redditor said, “I want a human customer service operator, not an automated operator or chatbot.”
A second Redditor replied, “Dude, for real, I hate having to go through 5 minutes of menus just for it to connect me to a person anyway, and then they have to transfer me 3 times. What purposes does it even serve?”
Music is Too Loud
A user replied, “Music in bars is too loud. (Edit to add that I’ve been a touring musician and live sound technician. I love music, but it actually sounds better at lower volumes, and I want to be able to hear it in my old age).”
Another commented, “I want to find just one bar where I can talk to my friends without screaming.”

Fast Fashion Sucks
One user commented, “Screw fast fashion. My clothes should be made to last. I’m not rich, so it’s unavoidable, but I’m willing to spend extra on clothes that aren’t made of plastic, and I do my best to repair my damaged clothing instead of throwing it out.”
A second user added, “ want to buy a pair of jeans that will last more than 2 years. Levi’s have not been lasting more than a year for me lately.”
A third replied, “Yeah, it sucks that stuff is either expensive out the a** or falls apart in 3-5 washes.”

TV is Too Dark and Too Quiet/Loud
One Redditor said, “TV is getting too dark. Not emotionally – it is visually too dark and I can’t see it.”
A second Redditor added, “And it’s way too quiet until it’s suddenly way TOO LOUD!”
A third user commented, “Too dark and too quiet. I swear we have to turn the volume up like twice as loud as we have it normally to watch Yellowstone. Better believe the commercials have plenty of volume though…”
Bluetooth/WiFi Connectivity Unneeded
A user replied, “Sometimes it’s faster (and easier) to just plug something in, instead of dealing with bluetooth connectivity. There’s something nice about knowing how to get it connected and being able to physically connect/disconnect.”
A second Redditor added, “I just moved into a new place. The microwave his wifi compatibility, I don’t know what it’s for or for to use it but it’s an option.”

Don’t Text and Walk
One user commented. “If you’re walking on a crowded sidewalk, get off your f***ing phone it’s not the job of other pedestrians to avoid you while you make your vlog. Awareness of your surroundings is important.”
Another replied, “I’ve seen people stand in the middle of a stairway, blocking people going up and down the stairs just to do something on their phone. The lack of awareness of people around them is horrible.”
No Headphone Jack
One Redditor replied, “GIVE ME BACK MY HEADPHONE JACK.”
Another commented, “I need my iPhone to have a headphone jack again. Sick to death of getting on the metro and finding out my headphones are near dead.”
Physical Media
A user replied, “I like physically owning the movies you love.I have friends who love the movie and watch it on Netflix whenever they can…… and then Netflix removes it. And if it’s a rare find, then you might never see it again. Owning a physical copy means you get to keep it and cherish it forever.”
A second user added, “Older Millennial here. I still love physical media, especially video games. If you have the disc/cartridge, they can’t take it away from you and make you pay to play it again. As long as you maintain your hardware, at least.”

No Tips Needed
One Redditor said, “Just because I pay for something on a tablet or kiosk, doesn’t mean I should have to tip the person holding it. I’m all for tipping wait staff but these days you can’t buy anything without getting a tip request from whatever payment processor they use.”
A second Redditor commented, “Tipping is for service that goes above what’s expected. Also, don’t tip when you pick up takeout. You’re literally doing half the job for them. Lastly, don’t tip at checkouts (where you didn’t have a waiter) because you don’t know who tf you are tipping.”
