A 23-year-old woman had her wedding in December 2022 and is still receiving backlash regarding the events that unfolded.
She lives in a country where it is winter with a fair amount of snow. The wedding was winter themed, so the timing was perfect. Her color scheme was forest green and gold.

She explained her wedding dress was white, and the maid-of-honor and bridesmaid’s color was forest green with gold accessories. Her maid of honor wore black.
Dispute During Dress Shopping
A friend of hers she called “Kat” was asked to be a bridesmaid. When shopping, she expressed her discontent with the bride’s color choice, saying, “forest green isn’t flattering.” She thought the color wasn’t “girly enough” and the bride should’ve chosen something different.
The bride rightfully refused because her theme was a winter wonderland, so forest green, gold, white, and black would coincide well together. Not to mention, this was her wedding.
Kat continued making unnecessary suggestions like pink, blue, or red. The bride declined each color. Kat was infuriated when she found out the maid-of-honor would wear black, but she wasn’t allowed to. Finally, the bride paid for all the dresses.
The Day of the Wedding
On the wedding day, Kat arrived thirty minutes late with a bulky bag that looked like it held a dress inside. She claimed it had an outfit in case she got uncomfortable after taking photos. And the bride didn’t think much of it.

Thirty minutes before the ceremony, the bride and her wedding party were off to take photos of the stunning venue. But, of course, the last to descend was Kat.
She was wearing an entirely black dress, utterly different from the other dresses of the bridal party. The bride admitted she was preoccupied with talking to her family and friends, so she wasn’t aware of the situation.
Ultimately, the maid-of-honor approached the bride and told her about Kat’s sudden costume change before rejoining everyone.
The Confrontation
The bride explained, “I confronted Kat and asked her what was happening. She said she hates her bridesmaid dress, as the color is ugly and makes her look gross, so she’s wearing black.”
She asked Kat nicely to change, which she refused, before walking away from the bride, ignoring attempts at calling her name.
“I said I’m going to ask her one more time, and if she doesn’t oblige, I’m calling security and kicking her out.” She was then met with obscenities from Kat, exclaiming that she wanted to be left alone.

Fortunately, she hired excellent security guards. She called them over and asked that they kindly escort Kat from the premises.
Again, she was met with worse obscenities, claiming the bride was controlling, forcing women to wear certain things, and claiming how inconsiderate of a friend the bride was being.
Regardless of Kat’s harsh words or the undeniably long and complex scene she created, the night went on beautifully.
The wedding party had odd numbers. There was always one empty seat. However, the bride expressed she benefitted in the long run by removing that toxicity from her life.
The Aftermath
Kat refused to stop contacting the bride with vulgar words and claimed she owed her money for the black dress she spent her cash on and never got to wear. Recently, she had had enough of the harassment and blocked Kat’s number for good.
Some of the other bridesmaids have admitted they believe the bride’s treatment of Kat was too harsh and she shouldn’t have evicted her from the ceremony.

They thought it was embarrassing to do that to her, and she did not deserve it. They’ve also expressed that the bride may be responsible for giving Kat her money back for the dress, which the bride highly contests.
