Kari Lake has been battling the gubernatorial election results in Arizona since she was announced the loser. She lost to her Democratic opponent, Katie Hobbs, by 17,000 votes. She insists that the election was fraudulent and has been taking steps to have the election overturned. Now, however, Hobbs has taken the oath of office and has become the next governor of Arizona, and Lake is out of options.
The End of the Road
Lake has refused to concede the election thus far and has even filed a lawsuit in an attempt to get the election overturned. The judge rejected all 10 of her complaints, but she still proceeded to file an appeal to the ruling.

Lake believes that because of tabulation machine issues and printing issues at polling stations (and especially in Maricopa County), widespread voter fraud was able to take place. There has been no evidence yet to prove her claims, but she has been adamant in her stance.
She and her lawyers attempted to prove that the printing machines were intentionally tampered with to sway the results against her, but a lower court judge ruled against her, saying she did not provide satisfactory evidence.

Not Much Hope
Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani doesn’t have much hope in Lake’s appeal efforts. She believes the best Lake could get in this situation would be a new trial, which would likely see her complaints rejected again.
“Even if she wins her appeal because the trial judge applied the wrong legal standard by requiring proof of intentional misconduct or clear and convincing evidence, at best Lake gets a new trial,” she said.
She added, “Hobbs has already been sworn in as governor, and Lake’s appeal will take weeks to resolve, if not months. It’s over for Lake.”
