We all Need a Little Motivation
When I woke up this morning I was feeling down, there wasn’t any particular reason for it, it’s just the way I felt. I didn’t want to get out of bed and I wasn’t looking forward to the day ahead. There was so much I had to do but didn’t feel like doing any of it. I didn’t want to parent, I didn’t want to clean, or cook, or work on any ongoing projects. The motivation just wasn’t there.
When I have days like this I try to break it down. Hour by hour if I have to. Today I felt like I needed to take it easy. I took some time for myself once the baby was having a nap and I laid down for a bit and just relaxed. Then I had a bath and watched a show. This is not how a typical morning looks like for me but it was exactly what I needed. As I sit here writing this I still feel a bit down in the dumps but I’m a little more motivated and I’m glad I took some time for myself this morning.
Listening to our Thoughts
Every time I write one of these posts it is not planned ahead. I sit down to write, pick a book at random and I open the page. The quote that I read is the quote I share with you and write about. This is my way of letting the universe guide my writing.
It’s so important to listen to your thoughts, something magical could be there and you’re too busy to hear it! While I was having my bath I took a few minutes to listen and it’s there that I decided to add to my Inspirational section and come write this post and pick a quote. This quote was perfect for me today.
Break Down your Goals
It is so easy to feel like you are always running around like a chicken with no head. You probably have this massive dream in your head that you think about all the time but you also think about the million things you have to do to get there. Or you’re thinking about the million things you have to do today! When you’re feeling overwhelmed, take the things you have to do and break them down into little things. Focus and get a little motivation going about the next hr and what you want to get done. Picture it, focus, and get that done. Our minds can help us create the mood we want. Like the quote says, “attract a cup of coffee to you today” Start small, the power of your thoughts is an amazing thing! If your thoughts are positive you will live a positive life! Focus on what little thing you want to happen today and make it happen!
Focus on Today
Going back to that big goal. Break it down by day. What do you need to do today to feel accomplished? I’ve started to do this recently and it really helps. Lately, I’ve been feeling like I can’t keep my house clean. Every Mother’s problem I know. The last few days I’ve been making myself write down in my agenda what I need to do each day when it comes to cleaning. This way my house is maintained, it looks good, I feel good and I’m feeling accomplished. Instead of thinking of everything I need to do to clean my house I focus on one room, or floor depending on what my priorities are that day.
You’ll Never Get it All Done
Give yourself realistic goals. I don’t think there will ever be a day where everything you want done will actually be done and you won’t have the motivation you want some days. Moms usually have about a million balls in the air! There’s kids, husband, family, homework, your job, supper, sports, bills, side hustles, hobbies, and if we ever get time, self care. That is a lot for anyone.
Give Yourself Credit and Use it as Motivation!
Break it down and give yourself credit for what you’ve accomplished today, no matter how big or how small use that as motivation to stay happy! You deserve credit! Your kids are happy, healthy? Amazing! You made supper? Amazing! You did car pool today? Go you! You got out of bed?! Wicked! What’s next?! We all deserve more credit than we get, so let’s give ourselves that credit ladies! We rock, we are killing it and we will all reach our goals one day, one step at a time!
Hope you guys all have an amazing day and if you’re having a blah day like me, I hope this helped motivate you a bit more! I feel better! XO
