If you’re feeling overwhelmed and always busy then meditation is probably something you should add to your daily routine. I have collected a list of 5 meditation podcasts to help you out.
I love meditation but getting into the habit of fitting it into daily life sometimes seems like a chore. The irony is that if you have a good practice (which I have in the past) life is just easier and you don’t feel as overwhelmed and busy as you do without it. For me personally traveling messes with my routine and I struggle to find time for myself every day. It is strange how it seems when you think you will have more free time you somehow end up with less. I’m still trying to figure out how that works exactly.
After all the old zen saying goes something like:
“If you don’t have time to meditate for one hour, you should meditate for two”.

A commonly asked question is “how do I fit meditation into my day if I am already so busy?“
Here are three times I squeeze meditation in when I feel too busy:
- 15 minute/lunch break at work.
- First thing when you are still waking up in the morning
- Right before you go to sleep
Like sleep meditation is rejuvenating and helps the body to repair. Some people find that by sleeping less and meditating more they are more energized. You can try and see what works for you. Maybe you set your alarm 30 minutes early and meditate instead of getting that extra sleep or meditate for 30 minutes instead of going straight to sleep. I find it helps me get to sleep and teaches me how to turn off my busy mind at night.

One thing that has helped me get back into my practice lately is meditation podcasts. I’m pretty big into podcasts. There is something for everyone. Comedies, crime, drama, personal development, fun facts. Whatever you want you can find it in podcast form. I am not sure why it took me so long to discover meditation podcasts. Now that I have I find it easier to take time for myself every day and I am starting to reap the benefits of a daily practice once again.
There are many meditation podcasts you can choose from. If someone doesn’t mesh with you then just keep scrolling down the list but here are 5 that I have found to get you started.
5 Meditation Podcasts for Busy People
1. Meditation Minis Podcast
This is a great one to start with. Host hypnotherapist Cheryl Hamilton has a soothing voice to guide you on a short 10- 15-minute meditation. She focuses on meditations to help reduce anxiety and stress which is what we all need, especially those of us who say “I don’t have time!”.
2. Mindfulness Meditation Podcast
This is a cool live stream podcast from the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. Each session is inspired by a work of art from the museum. You are guided by prominent meditation teachers from New York alongside the teacher and host Sharon Salzburg. Sessions run for up to 45 minutes which include an opening talk about the art than a 20-minute meditation.

3. The Meditation Podcast
Created by husband and wife healing team Jesse and Jeane Stern. These meditations run for around 30 minutes. I am new to this podcast but I like their soothing voices which are really important for me to get into it. They use guided meditations, binaural beats and mindfulness to help you relax, fall asleep, work through difficult emotions and find your truth.
4. Meditation Station by Stin Hansen
This podcast features short 10-15 minute meditation exercises that you can do in the podcast &/or take away to do on your own later. Stin walks you through exercises to enhance your resilience, forgiveness, pain management, deal with work and better handle people who frustrate you. This podcast has been running since 2005 so there is a lot to choose from.
5. Untangle, the podcast from Meditation Studio
Untangle is more of an interview podcast rather than a meditation podcast. I include it because untangle interviews people about how meditation has helped them. This is a good podcast for meditation nerds, personal growth junkies or just those who are curious and want to learn more. If you’re still on the fence about why you should meditate then you should tune into Untangle. You will hear heartwarming, interesting and informative stories from all sorts of people from business leaders, psychologists & neuroscientists to cancer survivors, moms & storytellers. Run times are typically between 30 minutes an 1 hour. You can also find the occasional bonus short meditation.
