With the New year upon us, I encountered the question, “What New Year’s Resolutions would you suggest to celebrities?” The poster continued, “Of course, I would tell Kanye to track his meds, and stay away from the internet and social media.” Here are the top-voted responses.
10. Stop Using Private Jets
“Stop using private jets, especially for trips that can be driven—destroying the environment and wasting massive amounts of fuel so they can get somewhere quicker/privately and take tired private jet pictures for Instagram. We don’t care anymore,” one noted.
9. Stop With the Performative Activism
“Stop doing performative activism. It’s useless; most people know you don’t care about the causes. Instead, you want to look good. Performative activism is done to increase one’s social capital rather than because of one’s devotion to a cause. We see you,” one noted.

8. Stop Harming the Environment With Skincare and Makeup Lines
“Stop creating skincare and makeup lines, making wasteful plastic, and destroying the earth for a vanity project. Rihanna is excluded,” one shared. “Nah, include her. Savage x Fenty is a scam like Fabletics, and there are no good billionaires. She’s still making money off other people’s labor and creating wastefulness,” a second argued.
7. Stay off Social Media
“Staying off social media for pretty much any celebrity is a good bet,” one replied. But, another argued, “Being on social media isn’t a problem. They’re human, and they’re going to want to have an IG or Tiktok account. But don’t take social media to heart. Most of the time, it’s a very vocal minority talking to itself.”
6. Please Don’t Tell Us Everything About Yourself
“Please don’t tell us everything about yourself. Less is more in this situation,” someone suggested. A second argued, “Or telling us everything about yourself just makes yourself seem incredibly boring. It’s an immediate turn-off.”
5. Stop Trying To Be Relatable to the Average Person
“Stop trying to be relatable to the average person. We are not the same,” one replied. A second added, “Sarah Jessica Parker was the most open about this. ‘I have a private chef and personal trainers.”
“It is not something accessible to the average woman.” Finally, a third confessed, “Every time someone calls the Kardashians/Jenners ‘self-made,’.

4. Stop Taking Bio Picture Parts Hoping To Be Crowned
“Dear young actors,” one addressed. “Getting an Oscar is not the pinnacle of an acting career. Working steadily over decades on excellent and exciting projects is more important and will be more fulfilling. So stop taking biography picture parts hoping to be crowned.”
“I can’t agree more. It comes off as desperate after a while. All these talented actors are flopping because they’re chasing that prestigious golden statue instead of seeking good projects that suit them better and audiences enjoy.”
3. Stop Promoting NFTs
“Stop promoting NFTs. Snoop Dogg was a big disappointment for me. Mainly because you can only get “Gin and Juice” on Spotify now with this stupid intro from a compilation CD, as he’s pulled most of his originals off the streaming services and made them dumb NFTs,” one complained.

2. Think Before Getting Buccal Fat Removal
One person shared, “Think hard before you get buccal fat removal (thinning your cheeks). We don’t yet know how reversible that procedure is, and it’s aging.” Another suggested, “I feel like some people’s faces are going to start looking like a Salvador Dali painting as they age.”
1. Tell Nepo Babies To Keep Their Opinions off the Internet
“Tell all the Nepo babies (successful children of celebrities) to keep their opinions off the internet. Also, they should stop getting upset at being called a Nepo baby and prove why they deserve to be in their position,” stated one.
A final commenter agreed, “Stop trying to put a spin on the fact that you’re privileged. I’d respect someone a lot more if they came out and said, yeah, I benefited, and now I’m going to give a leg up to people who AREN’T benefiting from nepotism and need real help. Where are those celebs? Do they even exist?”
