Someone recently asked Reddit, “ What was your pregnancy food addiction? Did you like it after?” After several hundreds of parents weighed in, these are the top-voted pregnancy cravings.
1. Fruit
Many users reminisced on their cravings for fruit. “Watermelon. Like entire large watermelons in one day.” Another user could relate exclaiming, “I ate so many watermelons, too! I couldn’t get enough, it was all I wanted. Now LO [little one] is 1 year old and I haven’t had any since their birth.
“Green apples, both pregnancies, ate close to 50 in a week, couldn’t keep anything down for the first 4 months, only them green apples. Never had them after giving birth, but my children sure love them green apples.”
“Cutie oranges. I ate about 10 a day my whole pregnancy. I’m six months postpartum now and finally cut back to one or two a day,” a user confessed.
2. Ice Cream
“Ice cream sandwiches with my first. I had one every day, sometimes more than 1. Hadn’t eaten them since childhood and haven’t had one since bub was a newborn.”
Another user agreed, “The last month or two of pregnancy I was so obsessed with ice cream (which I barely ever eat otherwise), I’d almost cry I wanted it so bad.”
3. Soda
“Couldn’t eat much. I was so sick, but Coca Cola was my everything. From Wendy’s especially. I drank it most of the day and would try to drink my hydro flask of water to balance it out. Lol”
Another user agreed, “Same for the carbonated drinks. I was developing a mild addiction to diet Pepsi before I was pregnant. I couldn’t stand it anymore once I got pregnant.”
4. Apple Sauce
“Applesauce! I ate so much applesauce.”
5. Meat
Some users changed their diet completely during pregnancy. One user, a former vegetarian, started eating meat. She stated, “Former vegetarian: ate popeyes weekly during my third trimester.”

“First pregnancy craving was salsa…just salsa. No chips, just ate it with a spoon.” Another responded, “I miss salsa so much (can’t eat onions, the fetus hates them).”
7. Guacamole
In response to the salsa craving, a user said, “I ate guac straight with a spoon. We could’ve been buddies.”
8. Yogurt
“I ate huge bowls of yogurt (think 1/3 of a liter tub) with frozen berries and cherries. The yogurt would freeze over the berries and make a perfect sour, milky creamy, crust. I was pregnant during the summer and this was a twice daily routine,” one user said

16. Cinnabon
“I had such a specific craving for Cinnabon cinnamon rolls during this pregnancy! It was hard to satisfy because we don’t really have one close by. I was able to get one at the airport during a work trip a week later!”

17. Pop Tarts
One user confessed, “Pop-tarts were my favorite during my breast feeding, feeding frenzy. But only the cinnamon sugar.”

Another user craved spicy sauce, stating, “Cholula Hot Sauce. I’m a midwestern white girl who did NOT like or ever eat spicy food. Around 18w pregnant, I made a chicken & cheese quesadilla with guac and sour cream. I got the most intense craving for Cholula hot sauce.”
