Rihanna has had a whirlwind twelve months. In May 2022, she and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child into the world. Then, in January 2023, she announced that she was expecting her second baby at the Super Bowl.
While the happy couple still haven’t publicly revealed the name of their eleven-month-old son, the music megastar hasn’t been shy about sharing cute snaps of her son on social media. With another child on the way, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are seemingly making the most of the final few months of being a family of three by enjoying evenings out with their son.

On Wednesday night, the pair took their son out to Santa Monica for dinner at one of their favorite spots, Giorgio Baldi. Rihanna has been spotted at the popular spot in California on several occasions and celebrated her 35th birthday there in February.
Wearing a Wu-Tang jersey and some hades, Rihanna took the time out of her evening to discuss how motherhood has changed her life with some of the paparazzi outside the restaurant. She told one of them:
“Motherhood is the bomb! It’s the greatest.”
Rihanna and Motherhood
Her interaction with photographers in Santa Monica isn’t the first time that Rihanna has gushed about life as a mother. Last year, before she had announced her second pregnancy, the Umbrella singer told Elle:
“Becoming a mother has only added to the inspiration in my life. I’ve had to find the balance between an efficient routine that maximizes precious ‘me’ time because work really does rob you of time with your child.
Meanwhile, in another interview with Vogue, she said:
“Oh my God, it’s legendary. It’s everything. You don’t really remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because it doesn’t matter.”
Rihanna also credited motherhood with giving her the power to perform at the Super Bowl this year. It was the first time that the singer had done a major live performance in seven years. She said at the time:
“When you are a Mother, you feel like you could take on the world, that you can do anything. When I agreed to do it, I was three months postpartum. I was thinking ‘should I be making decisions like this right now? I might regret this.’
Baby #2 and beyond
Rihanna has made no secret of the fact that she wants to have a big family and has said in past interviews that she wants “three or four of them.” Pregnancy and motherhood certainly suit her, and with A$AP Rocky by her side, the pair are arguably the biggest power couple on the planet.
Rihanna’s second child is expected to be born at some point this summer, meaning she will have two children under the age of two. Good luck to her and A$AP Rocky!
