Do you believe there is a double standard on what constitutes sexual harassment between men and women? You’ve got company.
After someone asked the men of Reddit, “What’s something women don’t realize is sexual harassment?” These are the top-voted responses.
1. It Should Be the Same
The number-one-voted response is, “The same standards should apply to sexual harassment against women.” One man explained he had a girl he worked with slap his bum, grab him inappropriately, and try to rub up against him.
When he took it to HR, they did nothing. “A week later, I got written up because she lied and told HR I had verbally abused her.”
2. Small Uniforms
One shared a nasty scenario, “The all-women management team purposely gave the male staff uniforms that were too small so that they could ogle bums.
The button on my pants snapped off after my third shift because my pants were so tight, and they wouldn’t give me a replacement for three months. I was sixteen.”
3. Under the Kilt Lookey Loos
“Every wedding and funeral I have ever been to as a Scotsman, there is a gaggle of horny grannies who try to get a look under the kilt at every opportunity,” admitted one.
Others shared similar stories about being asked what is under their kilts before one said he responded, “Shoes and socks.”
4. Grabbing Muscles
One man advised, “I’ve been into weightlifting most of my adult life. As a result, my arms and chest are noticeable. I’m not like a bodybuilder, but I have big arms and a protruding chest.
Women can grab my arms and rub my chest without permission or warning. I believe that they think it’s okay because they compliment me afterward. However, it makes me uncomfortable.”
5. Removing Clothes
“Some women once tried to take off some of my clothes in a club without me showing interest. They got angry at me when I told them to get off after a while—never been so confused,” another admitted.
6. Touching Men’s Heads
“As a guy, just because I have long hair doesn’t mean you can walk up to me and run your hands through it when I don’t even know you,” expressed one.
A second added, “This is also a bald guy problem. So many people touch my head at parties, and I hate it. Although it’s not just women, it’s a mix of people.”
7. Telling Men to Take Their Shirts Off
Many men in the thread had stories about being told to take their shirts off in appropriate manners. One clarified, “Especially when you just met me!”
8. The Gay Can’t Handle Me Debacle
One man stated, “Calling me gay if I’m not interested in them. Saying I can’t handle a woman like them. I don’t want to handle that particular woman.
And it has nothing to do with attractiveness. It’s just that kind of attitude or energy that repels me. As if I’m getting a magical gift that is undeniable.”
Another added, “The word handle alone is a huge red flag. You are supposed to be my partner and reasonable adult, not something that needs skill and willpower to handle.”
9. Touching Beards
Many men in the thread agreed that touching their beards without consent was sexual harassment. Not only the nonconsensual touching but the comments about how much they love it while stroking it.

10. Solicitations
Finally, one man shared, “Advertising OnlyFans type platforms personally through dm or text. Imagine if a man messaged a woman asking if she wanted to buy nude pics. It would be a totally different story.”
