We’ve got some info on what women secretly really hate.

Recently someone asked the women on Reddit what they secretly hate. Thousands flooded the comments with secrets and not-so-secrets, and many protested gender stereotyping. Nonetheless, here are the top-voted responses.

1. Clothing Sizes

The number-one-voted response is how bras, pants, shirts, and dress sizes differ depending on who makes them. One admitted, “I buy men’s underwear and tights; as a result, men’s small is universal.”

2. Menstrual Cycles

One woman confessed, “I had a full-on breakdown at 12 when it was explained to me that this would happen every month forever.”

Many other women agreed that between the mood swings, bloating, cramping, headaches, and the rest, none enjoyed or were happy to have them.

3. Calm Down

Nobody appreciated being told to “calm down.” One sarcastically noted, “A common mistake “calm down” implies they need to lower their calm, so it doesn’t work.

You are telling them to get more agitated. People need to start saying, “calm up,” that will fix the problem.” Others noted they hate being told to “smile.”

4. Massive Cologne

Many women in the thread agreed with “Mass amounts of cologne. Are you trying to choke me out?” One joked, “Axe body spray should be classified as a chemical weapon and permanently banned.”

5. Underwire

One woman shared, “When underwire doesn’t stay underneath the breast and firmly against the rib cage but instead starts creeping up along the under the breast. No one talks about this.” Several others agreed that underwire, period, was something they hated.

6. Attention At the Wrong Times

Many women agreed with the statement: Not getting attention when you actually want it and getting it when you have no energy. One reminded the thread, “Yeah, this is pretty much introverts of all genders.”

7. Being Called Dramatic

“Being called dramatic when trying to communicate our thoughts and feelings,” shared one. Alternatively, when people dismiss your thoughts and feelings by blaming them on your menstrual cycle.

8. The World Is Designed for Men

Someone volunteered, “The fact that things are designed for men’s bodies despite actual structural differences in our bodies, they scale down the stuff they make for men.

Or they don’t scale it down, and we have to deal with it. For instance: car accidents kill women at higher rates because the safety features use men as the default for design.”

9. Being Called “Hot.”

Many women in the thread stated they didn’t like being called “hot” as opposed to beautiful, pretty, stunning, or gorgeous.

So naturally, a man came to explain why being called hot is a compliment. At the same time, another argued that “hot” is a one-nighter, while beautiful is who you wife up.

10. Being Thought of As Dainty and Weak

Finally, one admitted, “People think I’m some dainty, fragile little flower because I’m a woman. Yet, I’m strong, resilient, and can handle chaos and catastrophe better than most.
