Are you a woman with grievances over what other women are doing? You are not alone. I was out scrolling when I discovered the question, “Women, what is something you wish other women would stop doing?” Here are the top-voted answers.
10. Using Their Issues To Invalidate Other’s Issues
“Using their issues to invalidate other’s issues,” one shared. “Just because you believe you’re suffering worse doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to be upset about what I’m going through. It’s not a fight for who can complain about their circumstances.”

“Why can’t we all recognize that everyone has different depths to what they can handle? I may not have become disabled in a bus accident, but I can still be anxious about my credit card debt.”
9. Insulting Themselves
One exclaimed, “Insulting themselves and their appearance all the time. If you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, don’t say it to yourself!” A second shared, “Start saying, ‘Don’t talk about my friend like that!’ It’s very effective and a good reminder if we start falling into a pattern of negative mindsets.”
8. Asking About Societal Stereotypes
One woman shared, “Asking if/when a woman is getting engaged/getting married/having a baby/having another baby/getting back to work after having a baby, especially from older female relatives. It just doesn’t end.”
Another volunteered, “My favorite response to being asked when my fiancé and I are going to have kids is ‘we’re just practicing for now,’ and watch them get REAL uncomfortable.”
7. Be Nice To Your Daughter-in-Law
Make friends with your daughter-in-law. Stop being horrible about her ‘taking’ your son, and you’ll be invited to be a part of more things in their lives. For example, it is appalling how many mothers of the groom wear straight-up wedding dresses to their son’s wedding in r/weddingshaming!”

6. Bringing Each Other Down
After someone volunteered, “Bringing each other down.” Another said, “Crab bucket mentality. A bucket of crabs, imagine that some are near enough to the top to escape! The ones lower down will grab the possible escapees and drag them back in.”
“Instead of letting them go and then taking their turn to get away, they don’t see the escape themselves, but they see others trying, and they’re shellfish, so they can’t allow it.” Cute pun.
5. Photoshopping Their Photos Into an Oblivion
One woman replied, “Photoshopping their photos to oblivion, thus reinforcing the unrealistic beauty standards. You know skin texture exists. So why do you pretend it doesn’t?”
A second elaborated, “Dear acquaintances from high school. If you have “brightened” your photo so much that you no longer have a nose, you have gone too far. We’ve all just hit 50. We expect wrinkles.”
4. Being Mean To Other Women in the Workplace
“Women being mean to other women in the workplace. It’s stressful enough,” shared one. “Even if we dislike someone, it’s no excuse to go out of your way to be rude and nasty to someone. Someone else’s shine does not dim yours.”
After many women shared typical women bullying women at work stories, one stated, “Our HR (human resources) lady is the worst of the lot, ironically enough.”
3. Writing Love Letters To Convicted Murderers
“Writing love letters to convicted murderers,” one woman replied. “Ugh, it makes me cringe from secondary shame. I am embarrassed to be a woman whenever I read an article about some killer who got lots of press because his crime was awful, who then gets tons of fan mail from strange women to his prison cell.”
A second shared, “A girl I follow on Instagram posted a pic of her wearing a t-shirt with the slogan ‘lady killer’ above a picture of Ted Bundy. I’m not easily offended, but I thought that was tasteless.”

2. Soliciting Me About Joining Their MLMs
“Trying to get me to join their MLM,” shared one. Another said, “Same. I’m not trying to be a boss babe.” A third added, “And if they’d quit saying they’ve started a business. It’s insulting to real business owners.”
When others asked, “What’s an MLM?” One answered, “Multi-level marketing. One person sells stuff, gets people to sell under them as a downline, takes a cut of profits, and encourages them to develop a downline. It’s a mix of a pyramid scheme and, I would argue, a financial cult.”

1. Urinating on Public Toilet Seats
The number one voted response with over 32k votes is, “Peeing on public toilet seats. Put some toilet paper on the seat if you’re worried about germs.” Another questioned, “I have so many questions about how these people sit on a toilet. Like, you know your thigh goes on the seat, right? RIGHT?”
Finally, a third answered, “They’re not sitting on it. They’re hovering so they don’t have to sit on it. So then they urinate everywhere and make it somebody else’s problem. Stop it!”
