“I find shaving cream unhelpful, but when I exfoliate and use conditioner, I get no razor bumps,” shared one. “I discovered this by forgetting shaving gel at a hotel and needing to improvise with the free conditioner. After that, I never returned to shave gel,” another confessed.

2. Keep Essentials in Your Car

A third user added, “Keep a backup purse or toiletries bag in your car dash filled with basics: deodorant, perfume, basic makeup, glasses cleaner, mini toothbrush and toothpaste, mini brush, some cash, etc.”

“It’s saved me numerous times, such as during impromptu meetings, staying over at a family member’s house, or traveling dates to which you may need to rush.”

3. Know Your Body Measurements Before Shopping Online

“Have all your body measurements written in your smartphone notes—feet length, standard bust-waist-hip, height, wrist girth, finger girths, etc. Update them once a year or when your body changes,” one suggested.

“If you come across any clothes that fit you perfectly – write down the brand and exact size, also the model name, if that’s something that the brand does have in stock at all times, like Levi’s jeans. It will help when you go online shopping.”

“Also, you can check the brand’s size charts, especially regarding shoes, increasing your chances of picking the correct size. Finally, consider fit – standard, oversize, slim, petite, and tall. Ever since I started doing this, my shopping skills have improved immensely.”

“It’s easy to measure yourself with a flexible sewing measuring tape. You can also take a shoelace or a cord, put it around the desired area, and then measure the resulting section with a ruler.”

4. Use Men’s Razors

One person explained, “Most men’s razors have a single blade at the top on the reverse side for detailing trims. So I was angry and excited when I found this out.”

5. Use Lemons to Clean Your Microwave

“My go-to method for cleaning the microwave is to microwave a bowl of water with lemon slices or peels for 3-4 minutes and let that sit and steam for a couple of minutes. It gets rid of all baked-on food in one wipe. It works for filthy units. I own a cleaning company, and this trick has saved me time,” shared another.

6. Get More Out of Your Toothpaste

One woman noted, “Cut it in half using scissors when you can’t squeeze more product out of a tube container (toothpaste, hand cream, moisturizer, body lotion, etc.). You’d be surprised how much product can still be in there – sometimes a few days or even a week’s worth.”

“Once you cut the tube in half, cut off a strip from the top portion’s end. Then stick the smaller top piece into the bigger opening of the bottom part to seal it and prevent the cream from drying out.”

7. Clean as You Cook

“I always have wet double-sided paper kitchen towels to clean any dirt. Then, when finished, I use the remaining ‘clean’ side to wipe all the cooking areas. It takes 10 seconds, and my kitchen is always sparkly clean,” one answered.

“I also keep a ‘garbage’ bowl when I cook to dump odds and ends when you cook so you are not running back and forth from the garbage can or leaving them lying around the counter space.”

8. Safe Keep Your Tampons in Ziploc Bags

One woman shared, “I started keeping the tampons in my purse/bag in a plastic ziplock bag, so they don’t rip to shreds in the bottom of my bag and get dirty.” A second confessed, “I use one of those small zip-up pencil cases. They fit perfectly, and I can keep several in my purse. The case also neatly slips into my bag.”

9. Sew Your Bra Straps in Place

“I sew my adjustable bra straps in place at the correct length. No more straps pulling looser and slipping off my shoulders. I put the bra on and adjust it to your desired tightness. Then take the bra off and sew loops around the adjustor, so it doesn’t move again,” another informed.

10. Vinegar Instead of Fabric Softener

“I use vinegar to soften my towels instead of fabric softener, which can build up and make the towels less absorbent. It also helps eliminate odors. Vinegar can also remove soap scum and hard water marks from granite,” said one. 

“Finally, you can sit vinegar out in a bowl to remove odors, like onions, bacon, and seafood. Vinegar for the win! “A second explained, “When I had a front loader, I put vinegar on the detergent cup. Then, I put it through the bleach dispenser when I had a top loader. It removes all musty smells and works wonders on kitchen towels and washcloths.”
