How You Can Create a Goal Plan for Yourself.
Using the Brain Dump Method
Creating a goal plan can be easy, the first thing I recommend doing is a brain dump. What a brain dump allows you to do is get everything that you have on your mind out onto paper. A brain dump is when you take a blank piece of paper and write down anything that comes to mind when you think about your monthly goals and what you’d like to get done that month.
Write it all down so you can see it in front of you, this way it’s easier to organize your plan if you can see exactly what’s on your mind.
I love doing a brain dump anytime I feel overwhelmed and feel like I need a bit more clarity. Putting everything to paper really helps you set out a plan of your priorities and categorize where you want to set your goals for the month.
Use the Goal Setting Calendar Template
There is a difference between setting up your regular to-do list and setting up your goal-setting calendar. These templates are made specifically for you to organize and track your goals, they’re also designed as a way to keep you motivated and determined. I highly suggest that you also keep your templates from the previous months so that you can look back and see where you once were and where you are now.
Each month you can come back and reflect on what you’ve accomplished. I print these pages out and add them to a binder that I keep on my desk. I add the free goal setting calendar template to my busy mom planner and plan my weeks according to my goals for that month.
A planner with monthly goals is key to when you want to keep a clear head when it comes to your goals, don’t forget to print a new one each month so that you can keep setting new goals and on track to achieving your dreams.
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Goal Planning.
It’s important to be able to plan ahead, this keeps you focused and on track to completing your goals. You want to plan your month, week, and day so that you can see the bigger picture but also break it down into realistic goals and tasks. Being organized each day will help you feel more productive and you have less chance of feeling overwhelmed.
There is research on the importance of goal setting, and the positives behind goal setting.

Why Setting Monthly Goals is so Important.
I’ve sure you like so many others (myself included) have set yearly goals at the beginning of each new year and more times than not they are big goals. Some examples of these types of goals are: I’m going to get into the best shape of my life. I’m going to have the best financial year ever. I’m going to quit smoking and drinking. I could go on and on, but I won’t, you get the point.
Why are these goals so big?! Let’s break them down like this: I am going to move my body every day. I am going to try to save and/or make $___ each month for a year. I am going to start cutting down my bad habits so that I can quit this year.
The options are endless. The key is to be able to see all your goals and tasks for the month in front of you so you can prepare and organize your month.
What Are Some Good Monthly Goals to Have?
Monthly goals are usually smaller mini-goals that you have in order to reach a bigger end goal. Have you ever heard the saying, “what you do today will reflect in your life in 90 days” Once you start checking off your monthly goals you’re more likely to continue to keep going on the path you’ve set towards your bigger goals?
Breaking down the big tasks into a monthly plan is a great way to help you stay motivated and determined.
It’s also a great way to look back and see just how much you’ve accomplished each month. It’s not always about where you’re going, sometimes it’s also about what you’ve done and how far you’ve already come.
Sometimes we are so caught up in where we want to be that we forget to look back on how far we’ve come, every step forward no matter how small is still a step that’s required to attain our big goals.
What Are the Best Goal Planners to Use?
The best goal planner is one that gives you enough room to really organize and see your plan for the coming month, week, or day. In this monthly goal planner printable you will get a section to list your goals and tasks than another section to list where you plan or accomplish your goals within the month.
Print out as many as you’d like to plan out multiple months at a time.
If you want to spit up your goals you could print out a couple and use some for business goals and another for personal goals or household goals.
What to Write in a Printable Monthly Goal Planner?
In a monthly planner, the goal is to write out your plan for that coming month, this is something I try to do in the last week of a month. Planning out your month a week in advance will give you time to ensure that you aren’t forgetting anything and that you need to get done that month. I suggest adding every goal/task in your planner so you can cross them off as you go. It’s not just about the big tasks, they all count, and they all matter.
