There’s always room for a little more joy, and a little more growth.
Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher, once said: “Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, those thoughts become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
Let all that sink in. Then think to yourself. How often do I believe that nothing ever goes right for me?
How often do I say something that’s not very pleasant about someone or something, and I then spill my hot coffee all over my keyboard?
How often do I say I will practice yoga in the morning and then hit the snooze button instead?
How often do you say, I need to make changes in my life and then continue to do things that hold you back instead of propelling you forward because you think you are not worthy of good things?
These are cycles we think we cannot break. Why? Well, it’s what we know, what is comfortable, what is easy. It’s easier to think negative thoughts when surrounded by negativity.
But what if you decided to change one little thought today? What if you decided that your day will be a great one when you wake up today, no matter what is thrown at you. After saying those words aloud, you took a deep breath and went about your day.
And on the way to work, you found a 5-dollar bill on the sidewalk.
Or the person in the car in front of you at Starbucks paid for your coffee order.
Or that cute neighbor of yours smiled and said hello to you in the elevator.
You wonder what made today so different, and then you realize you decided that today would be a great day no matter what was thrown at you.
This is the Law of Attraction. What you think, you attract. It is the ability to shape reality by thinking differently. You can apply this theory to your own life and see where this theory has worked for you or against you in the past.
What is the Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is a straightforward concept that is so difficult for many of us to master.
It is the ability to shape your reality by thinking differently.
What you think, you attract. What you ask for, what you believe in, you shall receive. Law of attraction work has become more and more popular in recent years, and more people believe that positive affirmations and positive thinking can help aid the law of attraction.
Humans, it seems, are hard-wired to live in fear and irrationality. And that comes from the subconscious mind, where negative self-talk lives in all its glory.
Positive thinking lives at the surface level of conscious thought, which is why many people find it challenging to maintain a steady rhythm of positivity.
Studies show that people who think positively and use the law of attraction are happier and achieve success.
However, if you can get to the root of your subconscious to change limiting thoughts and beliefs and begin to shape these thoughts positively, you will start to see this impact on your life altogether.
This is a conscious effort for many of us and can take time, but even the slightest change in thought can have the most significant impact.
The 7 Laws of the Universe:
- Burning Desire
- Visualization
- Absolute Belief
- Affirmation
- Complete Focus
- Manifestation
- Gratitude
The Law of attraction can be used to manifest, visualize and attract abundance into your life. It can help build your self-esteem, improve relationships, build self-confidence, and applies to all things in the universe.
A positive mindset is critical in using the law of attraction. What you feel, think, and put out into the universe is what you will attract back into your life.
Many people use the Law of attraction to manifest a career change or financial prosperity. Some use it to let go of toxic relationships and beliefs.
It is a deliberate and conscious effort to change your mindset.
However, it does not happen without effort and practice. Remember that the subconscious mind flourishes in the world of negativity.
The only way to change this is to stay in the present and focus on the positive, no matter how small the positive may seem.
Tips for Using the Law of Attraction
Remember when I mentioned what you ask for and what you believe in, you shall receive? Well, this is how you put the Law of attraction into play.
Try to Keep Your Thoughts Positive
The law of attraction works like this. What you think, say, and feel is what you are bringing into your reality. The frequency or vibe you put out is the type of frequency and vibes you’ll receive back.
Try to keep your thoughts positive and on the same frequency that you’d feel if you have already accomplished your goals. Picture yourself already living the life you want. What would you say? What would you think? That feeling is where you want to stay as much as possible.
Ask the Universe for What you Want.
Believe that you are worthy and deserving of what you want. Believe that you have perfect physical health. Try to deter negative thinking in your life anytime you see yourself going down a negative thought path. Declare it to the universe!
Use I Am Affirmations
There is a lot of power in reciting or writing down I am affirmations. They declare truth, and if you use them enough, you will become and believe what you are saying. Some examples are: I am worthy. I am passionate. I am loving. I am worthy of all my desires.
Receive and be Grateful for what the Universe Gives you.
To help with this, tools such as meditation, visualization, journaling, and daily affirmations are simple ways to begin your journey of thought change.
It can start small just by looking at yourself in the mirror every day and saying, “I am worthy.”
Keep a gratitude journal and express thanks for things in your life, even if they aren’t always perfect. For example, you may not work for your dream employer but imagine starting your day writing down that you are grateful just to be employed.
This gentle shift in mindset will begin to manifest in incredible ways.
Create a Vision Board
Vision boards are a beautiful and creative way to keep your goals front and center in your world.
Placing your vision board in a place where it can be acknowledged every day is essential to always be reminded of what you want in life. This also keeps your thoughts positive and set to the same frequency your goals are on.
Keep it by your bedside table or kitchen table. These are great spots to keep your vision board as they allow you a few minutes each day to look at what’s on the board and ask the universe to help those goals come to fruition.
Meditate
Meditation is an essential tool in the Law of attraction. Meditation allows you to fill the space in your mind with positive thoughts and forces you to be present.
Visualizing while meditating can help you to see the outcomes of your goals. A visualization is a powerful tool for the law of attraction because it can place you in a moment where your dreams have already come true, and that allows you to feel as if your dreams have already come true. This is so powerful.
People who visualize themselves excelling at a sport, sitting at the desk of their dream employer, seeing their book come to life on the big screen, or even owning a home see more opportunities presented to them that help attain their goals.
The Benefits of Using the Law of Attraction.
There are so many benefits of practicing the Law of Attraction. You can change the positive energy around you by using tools like affirmations, vision boards, and gratitude. These are all powerful tools that can help you fill the space in your mind.
Positive thinking and daily affirmations can help those with depression and anxiety change their daily thinking.
Seeing the result of your goals, in your mind or on a vision board, keeps your commitment to these goals strong. Your focus becomes laser-sharp.
The law of attraction can help you reach financial abundance. By using a powerful tool like gratitudes and picturing your goals already manifested, you can speed up the process of manifesting your dream life.
You will see changes in your self-esteem and personality. You will feel lighter, and your life will seem more fulfilling.
You will begin to see like-minded people gravitating toward your light. Like attracts like, and this is abundant within the Law of Attraction.
Your mental health will improve. By being more positive and practicing gratitudes, you will see more things that make your soul happy. You will learn to be more present and enjoy all the beautiful gifts you have around you.
Take time to picture the life of your dreams each day and try to take that feeling you feel with you as you go through your day.
Keep in mind that change does not happen overnight. Subtle changes occur right away, but only if you are open to receiving the messages, the universe is sending you.
Remember that your thoughts can become things, so do your best to keep your thoughts pure and positive.
Don’t get me wrong; you will have bad days, days where things don’t seem so extraordinary. But if you instill the habits I mentioned before in your daily life, you will see how different your perspective will be when dealing with the not-so-great days.
Instant gratification is not associated with the Law of attraction. It takes time and effort to see and feel changes within and around you.
You also have to be open to things not always happening as you had asked for. It is vital to understand that the universe guides you along the path you are supposed to be on and not always on the course you wish you were on.
Try to reduce the negative energy around you and any negative experiences you might know are coming. You are capable, and it is ok to put yourself first and reduce these experiences you know are not suitable for you. Protect yourself.
Work on raising your vibrations in all areas of your life. Surround yourself with positive reminders and make goals that positively impact your life.
Find a mentor that can help guide you and help you. Therapy is an excellent thing if you have past experiences that might be holding you back from reaching your goals.
However, if you put in the work and open your heart to believing, you will create the reality you desire.
Headspace is a mediation app that allows you to try it for free for 14 days. This is great because you see the benefits of meditation and mindfulness for yourself with some guidance sooner than if you’re trying out on your own for the first time. Easy reminders to be mindful, meditate and so much more.
I hope that this post helps bring the importance of positive thinking into your life. Slowly but surely, you can change how you think and have a great impact on your life.
You deserve to have all your wildest dreams come true. They’re your dreams for a reason. Your goals are who you are meant to be. Go after it!
The History of the Law of Attraction
The Law of attraction has been found in many ancient practices and Eastern teachings. Buddha believed that our thoughts make us what we are.
References to the Law of attraction have been found in Christianity, specifically in the time of Jesus, who alluded to the limitless powers we had within us to create.
In the 19th Century, it became more commonly known as the New Thought Tradition.
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Thomas Troward, William Walker Atkinson, Wallace Delois Wattles, and Napolean Hill were some of the teachers of the New Thought tradition.
Helena Petrovna Blavats taught spiritual guidance across a wide range of countries. She believed that our thoughts about ourselves and our identity defined who we are and what we are capable of doing. She guided people to embrace internal power to help people move past their limitations.
Thomas Trowards teachings greatly influenced the best-selling book “The Secret.”
William Walker Atkinsn believed that if your willpower were strong, it would improve your focus for developing the ability to attract good things into your life.
Wallace Delois Wattles explained and encouraged the use of creative visualization to in helping manifest what you desire.
Napolean Hill encouraged focusing on your life’s purpose. He firmly believed that negative thinking attracted more negativity.
Recently Rhonda Byrne has published several books like The Secret, which is filled with stories of people who have practiced the law of attraction. If you haven’t read any of her books, I highly suggest them.
These were the “influencers” of their time. Their teachings and beliefs in the Law of attraction have inspired many books, courses, and certifications and play an important role in meditation and yoga.
